Located in the heart of the Laurentian Valley, northwest of Ottawa, lies the Forest Lea trails. The trail system lies on crown land and consists of over 32km of single-track trails that are tight, technical, rocky, and rooty. This is an advanced recreational trail system. Even “easy” trails contain obstacles. The Forest Lea Trail Run primarily consists of technical singletrack.
There are 3 distances to choose from. The first is an entry-level event for youth at 3 km (25 participants max). The second is 10 km and the third is a distance run of 27 km. All runs utilize the trails at Forest Lea, specifically mimicking the routes used by the Forest Lea Enduro race which has in the past used the same distances for their event. The 27 km race is part of the Outrace series.
Proposed 10 km route – Start loop (Out road, ski trail, Jolly Roger, Oliver's, Q Loop), Art, Jolly Roger to finish.
Proposed 27 km route – Start loop, Original Red, Back Loops, Maple Syrup, Flat Pass, Jolly Roger, to finish.
